Designed for youth ages 11-18, Addressing Conflict and Anger Effectively for Youth is a skills-based curriculum specifically tailored to address concerns and difficulties youth are experiencing around making healthy decisions for themselves as well as how to recognize their emotions, especially anger, and manage them in non-violent ways.
This 8-week class covers topics from decision-making process, recognizing and weighing consequences, communication skills, types of power, conflict management, handling authority, the positive and negative consequences of anger, personal anger history, fair fighting, triggers and cool-downs, problem-solving, and much more. Parent/guardian attendance is expected on both Saturdays of the class.
The Conflict Center understands, that throughout a child’s development, parents play a critical role in the development of social and emotional skills. In recognition of this, we have built a parent-involvement component into each of our youth programs. Parents or guardians participate in half of the class sessions, those which focus on family communication and skill-building.
Certification of completion issued on last day of class.
PRICE: $200.00 per person for the full series.
We welcome full payment on the first night, but do not require it. We do ask for a $50 downpayment on the first class, and for full payment by the third class at the latest. If you anticipate a problem with this payment schedule, please contact Collin Heng-Patton at 303.865.5621 or by email at collin.hengpatton@conflictcenter.org.
We keep our classes small with 8-16 participants in each class to maximize time for sharing personal experiences and to ask questions as needed.
