Peace Day celebrates community and the power of reading to teach children skills that promote empathy, kindness, and friendship. Our 4th annual Peace Day offers a creative opportunity to connect while learning valuable skills centered on naming and understanding emotions. Last year we distributed 500 Peace Boxes to families to share the fun of specially designed skill building activities, games and crafts! This year we have increased our goal to creating and distributing 1,000 boxes across our community. This year, distribution will be on June 12.

What's in the

Activities for ages 4-10 and books for ages 11-13. The Conflict Center is passionate about equipping everyone with skills around interacting in healthier ways! A big part of that is beginning to help children understand their emotions and options in communication. This box contains small pieces not appropriate for children under 4. Although specifics for the boxes are still being finalized, here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect.

  • Crafts and activities children can create and use to identify their emotions
  • Activities you can use with a child in your life to build more understanding, and a deeper relationship
