Movies can also be life lessons and opportunities for conversations with our kids. If there’s a challenge in life, there’s likely a film that explores it. And speaking of challenges: anger is a HUGE challenge in lots of homes. Individual Counseling – Denver Family Institute (DFI)
DFI provides quality counseling services to diverse families, individuals and couples, regardless of income level. They often work with those unable to afford private therapists’ full-fee rates and those unable to access services through insurance. DFI’s therapy services fees are calculated using a sliding-fee scale ($25-65 per session) based on the client’s annual household income to ensure that therapy services are affordable. They take life circumstances into account when looking at the annual household income.
Free Online Course – Stop Violence or Abuse in Your Relationship
The purpose of this free online course is to help the person causing harm to change their behavior. This includes emotional and physical abuse. This course is intended to compliment individual counseling, so that each experience enhances the other.
Anger Management Group – Community Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation and Education
Adult Group meetings for anger management take place on Tuesdays from 4-5:00pm. This program focuses on managing anger in a more positive manner through a cognitive and behavioral therapy approach. This is a 24week course offered at a sliding scale fee.
Anger Management Group – National Institute for Change
Adult sessions are 12-24 weeks depending on intake. The group is held from 6-7:30pm on Wednesdays, and each class is $30. Adolescents can go to the non-substance abuse group held at 4pm on Wednesdays. Both groups work with emotional regulation, which applies to anger management. A one day class on alternatives to aggression are offered for both adults and adolescents for $70.
