Parenting Classes –
Families First

Parent Education classes are fee-based and instructor-led. General cost range from $60 – $75 per individual and $90 – $100 per couple, based on your class selection. Pre-registration and prepayment are required. Certificates are issued upon completion of each class.

Fatherhood and Parenthood Program –
City of Denver 

The Parenthood/Fatherhood Program empowers men and women to grow as parents, as they are supported to be the role models they want to be to their children. The program helps parents gain the skills and support they need to “be there” for their children, both financially and otherwise. The program is free and open to everyone. You may find it particularly helpful if you’re already involved with our Child Welfare or Child Support programs, or if you are in need of other supportive services. But being an existing Denver Human Services customer is not a requirement.

Family Support –
Shilo House

Family Support Professionals provide services to clients in their homes or in other community settings. Services are based directly on the needs of the individual family. After an initial assessment, a personalized treatment plan will be created to address the specific needs identified.

Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health

This is a family-driven and family-run non-profit organization that provides the “Family Voice” in Colorado’s behavioral health care system through advocacy, leadership, technical assistance, and collaboration.

Parent Education and Family Support Program

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a FREE parent education and family support program for families with children from prenatal through kindergarten. Trained parent educators, also known as home visitors, meet regularly with families (once or twice a month) in your home or at a location convenient for you. During these visits you’ll receive child development information, parenting strategies, fun activities to promote school readiness, and connections to community resources. Children also receive annual screenings (hearing, vision, and developmental) to make sure they’re on track to start kindergarten ready to learn.

Nurturing Parenting Program

The Community Based Education in Nurturing Parenting (CBENP) curriculum is a series of ten independent lessons that can be taught individually or as a series, meaning members can choose to attend as many or as few lessons as meets their needs, availability, and interest. The 90-120 minute lessons in the series are available in English and Spanish, and help caregivers to replace potentially abusive and/or neglectful parenting methods with positive, nurturing skills.
